big steps 4 change
Created in 2017, BS4C has as objective to empower residents in Enfield London including Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) people in the local community to achieve their full potential...
OUR MISSION
- Organise workshops and training sessions to improve the skills of residents, so they can get gainful employment opportunities and increase their chances of getting meaningful employment.
- Promote safer communities by working together to reduce criminal and anti-social behaviours especially among young people.
- Promote cultural integration of people of all races, cultures and disabilities through organising joint social events to encourage integration and socialisation.
- Promote the work of local artists, including musicians, painters, poets and writers through workshops, trainings and exhibitions of their work.
What We Do
BS4C works with the general public, particularly those living in London, while paying special attention to BME populations and other minority groups. All its volunteers are people from the local community who share a common interest in the work of BS4C and have the willingness to make a change in the community through volunteering in one of the different projects.
Examples of our stakeholders include the general public, businesses, volunteers, accreditation agencies, partners, employees, photographers, students and the media…
What people say?
Femi Sowande
One of the lessons that I think I have learnt over the years is that a lot of us have very short term processes in trying to achieve certain things. For some of us who have worked in the community for years and years and years, some of us have hardly seen any progress. I think part of the problem with that we are too short termed in terms of how we do our planning. If we plan 20 years ahead and 20 years back, I think we will progress a lot

The Big Step 4 Change initiative to teach migrants and young people about the criminal Justice system is highly welcome in our community…ignorance is no excuse from the law.

It is nice to know something like this is going on. When they first came to record my story, at first I was thinking: do I want anybody to know my story? Do I want to share anything with anybody? Do I have something worth sharing to start with because at times, you don’t know if what you have is worth sharing?
